I'm happy to announce the 0.3.39 DEV release of Qcodo.  This includes quite a few bug fixes and enhancements.  This also includes a new QCalendar control which is DHTML-based instead of a Popup.

Please Note that the old QCalendar popup-based control has been renamed to QCalendarPopup.

Also, two new examples site pages have been created, one dealing with ALL the options for DateTime-based controls, the other showing the basics on how to create your own QControls:
<http://examples.qcodo.com/examples/other_controls/datetime.php>
<http://examples.qcodo.com/examples/other_controls/sample.php>

CALLING ALL CONTROL WRITERS!  In an attempt to make it even easier for developers to begin writing QControls that link with other popular JS frameworks (YUI, Dojo, ExtJS, etc.), we're looking for people to submit some examples site pages talking about creating a control specific to one of those frameworks, based on the new QSampleControl as a starting point.  Definitely let me know if you'd like to help us out... thanks!

Otherwise, read through the changelog for more info.

And finally, there are still some issues with the new QQ::Expand procedure, especially with more complex conditional join queries.  I'm working with Shannon Pekary to get those issues resolved... so hopefully those will be fixed in 0.3.40.

Hello Qcodo team,

I'm so glad to see 0.3.39 coming.
After the stable 0.3.32, the Qcodo has many big changes, like Meta Control, and more support CSS settings etc.
We use Qcodo to develop project.
So I want to know, how long will be the stable version coming ?

Thank you for your responses.

Just a head's up -- thanks to some quick bug finds by Shannon, I've put up a 0.3.40 update.

Goodspeed... it's tough to say.  We're depending on the community to let us know of the bug fixes and critical functionality additions to put in before we can make it stable.

For now, no additional functionality is expected before we make this into a stable release, but we do anticipate additional bug reports to come in.

We definitely encourage everyone to try out the latest dev versions to see what bugs come up to help us know where the bugs are... so let us know!  =)

Happy to read about the new developments, and especially the new QSampleControl has caught my attention. I just took a look at the new addition to the examples site for it, but I can't immediately figure out how I should advance with creating a customized control out of this.

Is the approach similar to other custom QControls that were created by members of the community? If so, than I'll take a peek at how other people pulled it off.

But most preferably, I would like to see the example of the QSampleContol being extend with some more functionality on the examples site. Perhaps a case could be built around linking it with Ext or Dojo, and show how this should be done for a specific example.

I'm sure that there are a lot of people with a good concept, but simply don't see how they can put it in practice. Hopefully this will also lead to more custom controls being developed, with perhaps an even higher quality level? Meanwhile, thumbs up, keep the good work and thanks again for this lovely framework!

Wow thanks for the alias work. It used to be that I couldn't directly copy and paste a query from the profile into mysql cli because the mysql cli couldn't handle the volume of the paste operation. Now the query are much shorter and ideally take a little less bandwidth:)
