I am happy to announce the DEVELOPMENT release of Qcodo 0.4.0.  Although there have been considerable changes from the 0.3.x branch, the good news is that the new 0.4.x branch should still be compatible with Qcodo Updater so you should still be able to use the qcodo_updater cli utility to migrate your Qcodo installation to this new 0.4.0 release.

Some of the highlights of this release include:

  • Built off the new GIT source code repository hosted at github.com
  • Includes a completely new CLI engine, qcodo for POSIX-compliant systems and qcodo.bat for Windows
  • Examples and Web-based “DevTools” have been removed from the core distribution (they will each become its own QPM package shortly)
  • Cleaned up and more-secure file folder hierarchy (namely, by default includes/ is now outside of wwwroot)
  • And of course the new Qcodo Package Manager toolset, allowing community members to post, share and download their own improvements, mods, fixes to the distribution without any bottlenecks or approvals

The details will be posted on the Changelog.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to post.

I'm hoping to quickly wrap this into a stable release, so please download and test as much as possible.  If you encounter any bugs or issues, please do report it in the Bugs Section.

Thanks!

And as quickly as 0.4.0 has come, we are now at 0.4.1 to put in a few last-minute bugs/issues that crept up.  Please see the changelog for more information.

Thank you so much. :)
Qcodo Package Manager.. Zend Framework integration? Wow that's exciting.

I wonder when the stable version will hit the road?

A pretty exciting update - the 0.4.1 is looking quite nice and stable.  I just performed a qcodo_update on the Qcodo.com website codebase (which was written using 0.3.43) - of course a few files still had to be manually edited here and there, but overall it was a relatively painless (not even 30-minute) process.

Testing will continue, but if things look stable, I'll push the updated qcodo.com codebase to production running on 0.4.1, and we'll see our first stable 0.4.x branch release very soon after that.  =)
