Mike Hostetler, the operator of that site, is away on a skiing trip so that's probably why it hasn't been fixed yet (impeccable timing...); I'm guessing it'll be fixed as soon as he gets back.

Hi Guys-

I'm back from skiing.  Froze my butt off, man was it cold.

I'll take a look and see what's going on.

Btw Matt, I used to live in La Crosse.  :-)

Well, I've finally got the story together on what happened.

I was hosting QForge on a linux server cluster I had built.  It ran along quite smoothly for several months.  A few weeks ago, I prepared to switch hosting companies and started the conversion.  During the process, I forgot to move QForge.  This was due to my forgetfullness mostly, but also to the fact that I was sub-hosting the domain from my blog's account.  Thus, it didn't show up in the lists of domains.  Yeah, like I said, mainly my forgetfullness.

So, when I realized that I had forgotten, I went to go and revive the site.  Well, turns out my database backups stopped running back in September.  Yeah, don't ask.

Long story short, I contacted my hosting provider and they have a backup of the database.  I have all the files.  They are sending me the database this week.  So, QForge should be back up soon.

Thanks for your patience.

Hi all,

It seems that I'm not the only one who has recently discovered QCodo and is desperate to play with some of the extra components from QForge (I too am especially keen to try QAutocomplete).

Is there any chance that we could get these components co-hosted in the downloads section of this site? Community/project management should probably stay on QForge, but having an alternate download location for the latest version of each project could do no harm. One central repository for all things QCodo related seems sensible to me.

Is it possible?

Keep up the good work.

Cheers,
Len

Len-

I'll see what I can do about getting these components up sooner rather then later.  I'm still waiting on getting the backups back from my co-locator.  Once that happens, we'll get things running again ASAP.

Well, we're making progress I guess... The site's alive, but... yikes! Never seen so many php errors on one page :-)

Hi Mike,

Well, it's been 2 months now and my guess is that if your ISP hasn't sent your old data by now then they aren't going to! Is there any other way to get the site back up?

Perhaps the original contributors could re-upload to a fresh drupal instal (ie start over)?

Or re-upload contributions to the downloads section of this site?

Even if you've lost the list of contributors I'm sure the registered users of this forum would forgive a mass email to help restore the qforge.

Cheers,
Len
